As-builts are typically performed on the following drawing types to update them to actual construction and include deviations from the Issued for Construction revision in the final close-out set:

  • P&IDs;
  • Plot Plans; and
  • Process Flow Diagrams.

An as-built typically includes:

  • Mechanically as-built Process and Instrumentation Diagrams verified by a senior piping designer;
  • Symbology Chart;
  • Updated or new Process Flow Diagram; and
  • As-built facility Plot Plan, including:
    • all surface items (as well as non-process equipment like guard rails, roads, storage areas, etc.);
    • underground pipe and cable routings and underground equipment depending on available information; and
    • survey boundary locations where a site survey exists.
